This looped route winds through lush greenery with views of raw beauty of the steep cliffs overlooking Dublin Bay, as waves crash against the rocks below. Ideal for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, the route begins and ends at the Howth DART station and circles the peninsula, with breathtaking scenery from start to finish.
Scenic spots along the Howth Cliff Walk Green Route include Howth Harbour, panoramic views of Dublin Bay, Baily Lighthouse, Ireland’s Eye, Lambay Island, Red Rock Beach, Findlater's Cave and panoramic views from the Summit.
The well-maintained and marked paths ensure easy access for hikers of all skill levels. Hiking boots/shoes are still recommended!
The Green Route is a very manageable looped route, the total ascent is 130m. The trail is approximately 8km long and will take us around 2 - 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace, with plenty of stops for snacks, snaps and chats!
